Otaku Purity Test

This is a test to see just how much of an otaku you really are. You might not want to score high on this.

If you can change anime to manga and the line becomes true, it still
counts. (Slight rewording of the line may be needed, such as changing
watched to read).

If any of these are you that is one point just keep count and the scoring is at the bottom.

• You know what otaku, anime, and manga means.
• You won’t admit you’re watching Japanese cartoons. It’s Anime!
• If you do NOT think all anime is porn.
• If you feel anime is on the whole superior to cartoons made in any other country
• If you believe editing anime to put on television is a terrible idea.
• ^But not as bad an idea as not having it on television at all.
• ^^If you’ve watched anime for 10 hours straight.
• ^^^And watched more the next day.
• If you can’t go for a week without watching anime.
• If you spend over 8 hours a week doing something related to anime.

• Know more about certain people in the anime industry than you do about many of the people you are around in real life.
• If you understood Akira or Darkside Blues without anyone trying to explain it to you.
• If you’ve eaten with chopsticks.
• Your normally asleep when its night time in Japan.
• If you’ve ever dreamed about anime.
• If you’ve dreamed you were an anime character.
• If you want to have anime related music played at your wedding.
• You’ve used an anime character’s trademarked line in public.

• React to things like an anime character.

• Have done short anime style animation work. (Cell or Computer)
• Worked on dozens of fan-works
• Voted best fan-work
• Received a favorable comment from someone involved in making the anime you did a fan-work for

Merchandise

• Import items direct from Japan.
• Own an anime tape.
• Own an anime LD or DVD.
• ^Own more anime tapes than the average video rental store. (30+ tapes, LDs, DVDs.)
• ^^Are you sure you don’t distribute anime? (150+ tapes, LDs, DVDs.)
• Own an at least 8 tapes from the same anime series.
• The only videos, LDs, and DVDs you collect is anime.
• Collect manga.
