Yuzo had an interesting comment about the illustration above:
"A sweet momento of my early career. I now realize that Pai evolved from
the character 'Pink'"

Yuzo Takada has certainly made a name for himself in the Manga and Anime world.
His most recent work, Blue Seed, was an eagerly awaited TV series, not only for
it's OAV quality animation, but because of the great characters and stories that
he has created in the past. His most famous works are 3x3 Eyes, Bannou Bunka
Neko Musume (All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku) and Blue Seed
(All of which are fantastic.
Yuzo Takada was born in Tokyo on March 21, 1963 (By the way, Yuzo is his first
name, and Takada is his family name). When he was 20, his first appeared
in the November 1983 issue of Biweekly Young Magazine with a piece called Shushoku
Beginer (Sensual Pleasure (?) Beginer) Soon after this, he began his first regular
series, Tokonatsu Bank (Endless Summer Bank), which ran from December 1983 to February 1985.

Some of his other works include Hatamoto-Taikutsu Otoko, Sportion Kids, and Tour Conductor Nikumori.
Yuzo commented on Tour Conductor Nikumori, whiledescribing one of the art pieces:
"My editor for 'Tour Conductor, Nikumori' wanted a fairly pornographic story.
As the series progressed, though, it became an action manga. When I drew this
piece the original plot was becoming difficult to develop and I was fed up with
drawing pornography. I really wanted to draw manga about supernatural creatures,
but my editor refused (partly because my drawing skill was inadiquate)"

3x3 Eyes started running in December of 1987 in the monthly Young Magazine
Kaizoku-ban ("bootleg" or "Pirate" version of Young Magazine) At the same time,
Takada was writing and drawing another series for Futabasha...
So, you thought that Miyuki and Natsumi of Taiho Shichau Zo! (You're Under Arrest!)
were the origninal Police Women Pair from Hell? Then you haven't met Yumi and her
partner (I couldn't spot her name), from Mainichi ga Nichiyobi (Everyday is Sunday):
Collections of this series are still in print, as I found out wandering thru
bookstores in Japan.

Yuzo Takada has been responsible for many series over the course of his carrer, and
it is still going strong. One other series that I am aware of was done for Ta-Ke Shobo.
Someone came across the Ta-Ke Shobo booth at the American Booksellers Association convention
one year in Chicago. They were quite suprised to find a Manga publisher there
in the first place, and then, the art on one of the tankoubons on the counter looked
awful familiar... shure enough it was by Yuzo Takada! It was a series called
Toritsuki-kun:
Ta-Ke Shobo is also the publisher of the Blue Seed manga.

More recently are two very popular series. Bannou Bunka Neko Musume (All Purpose
Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku) was originally published as a manga series in a
now-bankrupt magazine (the manga was finished by someone else and published in
Tankubon form) However, the story spawned a successful OAV series of 6 volumes,
and rumor has it that there will be more:
Nuku-Nuku also just happens to be the name of the all-purpose computer here on
my desk, and she's about as fuzz brained ... (nyaan!)
Nuku Nuku happens to be floating around alot on my totally Nyan! pages...

The latest major addition to Yuzo Takada's arsenal is the TV series Blue Seed.
The series was planned to have a short run, with the emphasis on OAV quality
animation and a solid story with a pre-determined ending.
